DRIVING INSTRUCTIONS
For
assistance in land navigation around the Altadena/Pasadena area, the
mountains are used as the North direction reference.
From
the east cities or Inland Empire:
take
the 10 freeway to the 57 north to the 210 near San Dimas.
Or
take the 210 west toward Pasadena.
From
the south cities:
take
the 71, or 57 north to the 210 near San Dimas. Follow the signs west
toward Pasadena.
Or
Take the 605 north to the 210 near Duarte. Follow the signs west toward
Pasadena.
All
West bound 210 in Pasadena take the Lake Avenue off ramp and go right
(North), up Lake, toward the mountains.
Or
the 710 north to the Valley Blvd offramp.
Go east to Fremont, turn right, north, to South Pasadena. At Columbia
Street in Pasadena, jog left at the light, then right up Pasadena
Avenue. North of California Street (near the Huntington Hospital)
take the on ramp that leads to the 210 East.
All
East bound 210 in Pasadena take the Lake Avenue off ramp and go left
(North), up Lake, toward the mountains.
From
the Arroyo Seco/Highland Park,
take the 110 north toward Pasadena and exit Orange Grove Blvd. Go
left (North), uphill, on Orange Grove to California Blvd. Turn right
(East) to Pasadena Avenue (near Huntington Hospital), then left (Northon
Pasadena Ave to the 210 East onramp.
All
East bound 210 in Pasadena take the Lake Avenue off ramp and go left
(North), up Lake, toward the mountains.
From
Los Angeles take the 5 North to the 2 near
Glendale and go North to the 134 near Eagle Rock. Go East toward Pasadena,
transition to the 210 East and get off at Lake Avenue.
From
Burbank/Glendale take the 134 East to Pasadena
and get off at Lake.
All
East bound 210 in Pasadena take the Lake Avenue off ramp and go left
(North), up Lake, toward the mountains.
All
North bound on Lake Avenue Toward the mountains in an uphill direction)
drive approximately 2-1/2 miles to Altadena. Enter Altadena at Woodbury
Road and procede North 1 mile to Altadena Drive. Go left at the signal
and see the Community Center on the left (rad on map) directly adjacent
to the Sheriff's
Station (green on map).
From
the Valley, Sunland/Tujunga, La Crescenta, La Canada
take
the 210 East to the Arroyo Windsor Offramp.
Go
north on Arroyo to Woodbury Rd. Go east on Woodbury about 2 miles
to Santa Rosa Avenue, aka Christmas Tree Lane. Go left on Santa Rosa
and Drive North, uphill, about 1 mile to Altadena Drive. Go left a
half block and watch for the Altadena Community Center on the right
near the bus stops.
an alternate route can be had by taking
the 210 FWY east across Pasadena and exiting at Lake Avenue as per
instructions given above.
